Form Follows Function
In our country where resources are limited & should be used judiciously, I follow in my Architectural practice the principle that `Form follows Function’. The plans are evolved considering the climate of the place, site conditions & clients’ brief. Energy conservation strategies, such as load bearing walls, upper level ventilators, cavity walls, verandahs, court-yards etc. are applied in the built form. The materials used are expressed honestly with its original texture such as exposed brick & concrete finishes. There is a constant search for innovative design solutions to suit a particular context in the given frame work of economic, climatic and site constraints. Emphasis is always given to arrive at an efficient, energy saving and eco-friendly design.
