Outdoor Retreat
When Mr. Manik Lal Dhaga and Mr. Raghotham Reddy decided on opening a restaurant near National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal they had one thing clear in their mind that the place should not be a run-of-the-mill restaurant. They wanted that something different should be offered to their patrons, a place that should be open and cozy at the same time, a place where the young college crowd and family can feel at ease, relax and spend some good time and have good food. In addition, they wanted all this to be achieved within the budget that they had in mind.
Keeping these stringent parameters in mind, they contacted their friend and renowned Engineer R. Mahender Kumar. After surveying the site and discussing the project with the owners, taking in to considerations all their needs Mr. Kumar with the help of Mr. Uday Kiran came up with a concept of Haveli Restaurant.
When Building Giants contacted Mr. Kumar, he graciously agreed to share his experience in design thought process with us. Keeping in mind that the land that they had to work on was an "L" shaped it was a difficult task to give it a prominent front entrance which should be aesthetically appealing and also should have practical use to incorporate the entrance gate, office space, pan shop and a parcel window. With immaculate planning and designing cues as you can see in the picture all these areas were added without compromising on the size of the gate. The two circular windows on the right side add to the beauty of the entrance and also serves the purpose of a Pan Shop and take-home parcel window. On the left hand side is the office building.
